Back to School

When I finished up my doctorate at UMaryland, I swore that I was done with school.  After doing 9 years of undergrad and graduate school, I knew it would be a very long time time before I felt like going back to school.

Well apparently a long time for me equals a little over 2 years because this fall I started up with the Vineyard Leadership Institute , or VLI as I'll call it from here on out.  VLI is a 2 year certificate program that teaches theology, bible study, and also offers mentorship to help people become leaders within the church.  Susan has been enrolled for the past year and I'm always fascinated with what she's learning.  So this summer when she told me that couples get a big discount, I figured, why not!  I've never had any formal training in theology, church history, or pretty much anything, so I'm looking forward to getting my learn on.

Doing VLI was one of the best experiences of my life; I finally got a framework in which to place the whole Bible. Great teachers. I miss it.

Good for you about VLI...but are you really taking up Mandarin?!

Do you mind my asking why Mandarin? Not that there is anything wrong with it, just wondering, why? Is it something you just want to learn, or do you have a purpose beyond just learning the language?

Well I did post a few months ago about how my friend who is a missionary in China was trying to recruit us.. It might have something to do with that... or maybe not..

I've been to China once before and I found it to be an amazing place where people are incredibly hungry.. It was honestly the easiest place I've ever evangelizes before..

When my loans are paid off, we may go there for a year, or maybe not.. :)

(romanized mandarin) Moag Wan Hai! (No biggie) You got it jaz. VLI will always have two thumbs up from me. The resources presented help immensely in whatever ministry / church planting you move into.
