I was at least partially raised by an African-American who worked in our home. I have always known that white people have a lot of repenting to do because much of the family breakdown in African American homes is attributed to slavery. We have grievous sins to repent of! And I don't hear much among Christians about repentance and restitution. But the very fact that we have elected a black President means that African-American children now have a model, an educated person, to look up to. They now have an example of a married couple they can look up to. This is so huge!!! What white people take for granted is now possible for African Americans. Yes, you saw hope on many elderly African Americans in the crowd on inauguration day. They had waited a long time for this possibility. People had given their lives for this day. I fully believe that this Kingdom of God is also about social justice and we are starting to see that. Obama is not offering the hope of the Kingdom! No president can offer that! But he is offering hope that a enslaved people can break out of slavery, get educated, and be able to have stable families. \u003cBR/\u003e\u003cBR/\u003eI'm not saying any of this to be controversial or to debate anyone.
